Published November 29, 2009 | My husband and I would like to travel to Jamaica later this year. Is it better to go all inclusive like Sandals or Couples or to book our own hotels and pay for food, etc when we get there?

If you have never been overseas before, I’d recommend an all-inclusive. The all-inclusive takes all the hassles out of the trip–you pay and get room, food, booze, non-motorized sports, etc. for "free." The bad part is you feel obligated to stay at the resort and eat, drink, be merry there or you pay twice for the same thing. It’s no problem if you are happy with the food (same thing every 7 days and institution food), like the local booze and the other guests are civilized.
