Published February 23, 2010 | I desperately want to visit my boy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, which is a short train ride from Budapest, Hungary. I cannot afford the air travel that I find at all the online sites. Does anybody have suggestions for cheap travel? I need the total air fare to be $1000 or less.

Published February 23, 2010 | I’m traveling alone from Cancus to Belize, by bus. I’m trying to look for Premiere buses. Is it safe to do this alone? If not, how can I further protect myself and my belongings (besides the obvious … traveling during the day, etc..) ?

It should be safe based on our experience. My wife and I moved to Belize from the States by flying into Cancun and then taking a bus to Belize. The process we used was simple – we flew into Cancun and arrived sometime in the morning. We took a taxi to the bus station and just asked for buses to Chetumal – a city near the Mexico/Belize border. We took the next bus to Chetumal – it was a very comfortable and relaxing ride to Chetumal (about 4-5 hours) and although we were a family it looked like a single women could have made the ride without any problems as well. We then stayed in Chetumal for the evening (it was getting to late to make it into Belize) and then finished the rest of the ride to Belize City in about 3-4 hours. This part of the trip went without problems or difficulties as well. Of course, once you are in Belize City you can find transport to the rest of the country fairly easily.
